I'm Off but Blame It On The Bootie !!!!

Well, I'm off for a while now but whilst I'm gone check out this fine compilation from my good friends at Beat-Boot-Ique.

Blame It On The Bootie features some fantastic mashups from The Who Boys, Guv'nor, CMP, The Illuminoids and many others. It's a very eclectic mix and it really encapsulates the 70's in one superb listening experience.

Don't take my word for it - just download it and enjoy !!

I will be in the States for a while if anyone wants me !!!!

Bye for now

New Depeche Mode Mashup - Exclusive to Ramdomthoughts

This weekend Scott Johnson is featuring an all new mashup I have produced featuring Depeche Mode.

"World In My Precious Eyes" is a fusion of DM's "World In My Eyes" taken from one of the best albums in the world 'Violator' versus DM's "Precious" taken from the album 'Playing the Angel'.

This mash is exclusive to ramdomthoughts.co.uk and will feature on show #72. This mash will NOT be available to download via my site or Scott's. You can only hear it by downloading Scott's entire show as of this weekend (15th September release date).

If enough people want it released as a seperate download and contact me to ask - then I might consider it........maybe ;)

I'm Not Retiring !

Over the past few days a couple of websites have reported that I am no longer producing mashups and I have retired from the scene. This is not true, however this mis-information is largely my fault and I feel I should explain what has happened.

On various forums I recently posted a thread to my recent Jamelia v Cameo mashup. One of the lines read : "My last mashup ("
This should have read - "My last mashup (for at least a few weeks due to holiday and other commitments)"
Unfortunately, half way through typing my post I was interrupted by a visitor and genuinely forgot to finish the sentence. I clicked the 'publish thread' button and that was that.

I knew nothing of the repsonse to this because I have also had problems with my email account, my ISP and my web server.
A good close mashup friend phoned me to ask "what the hell is all this last mashup about" - and I didn't have a bloody clue what he was talking about !

Add to this some recent changes to my facebook profile - which were meant as 'in' jokes for close friends and family members and the whole thing has blown up without me knowing much about it.

The simple fact is I am not retiring - however, due to some recent surgery I have to take some time out as my health is not at it's best. I am going to re-charge my batteries in America for a couple of weeks, record a 'secret' project whilst there and hopefully return refreshed and ready for some exciting months ahead. In view of this I won't be releasing any new material for some time.

I am sorry for any confusion, upset or puzzlement this caused. None of it was deliberate and it was not done as a stunt. Just a simple case of mis-communication - most of it caused by me, with no thanks to my useless ISP and email providers !!!!!

I hope this clears things up.

Thanks

Cameo vs Jamelia

An all time classic, 'Word Up' mashed with a recent 'mashup of sorts' - Jamelia's "Beware of the Dog" which heavily sampled Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus".

"A Cameo Appearance From Jamelia"

It's available via my main website - www.bobbymartini.co.uk on mashups page 6

Blu Cantrell vs Eric Clapton & Sting

Matt Bland originally did this mashup a while back but had some tuning issues with it and it didn't much get notice. I saw the potential and asked Matt if he would like me to take a look and possibly re-mash it. I did, and this is the end result. From an original idea and mash by mattbland : This is "Lethal Cantrell"

This mash contains elements from : "Hit 'Em Up Style" by Blu Cantrell and "It's Probably Me" by Eric Clapton & Sting - taken from the movie 'Lethal Weapon 3'
You can download from my main site : http://www.bobbymartini.co.uk/ on mashups page 6.
Comments always appreciated.
Cheers.

I Won Something !!!!

Great news for the beginning of September. I have won 'Mashup of The Month' @ Beat-Boot-Ique for my mash "Chemical Brothers Get Stoned With Spears" and I also won 'Mix of The Month' for my "Summer Martini Mixer 07"

Also want to give a big shout out to my good mate Scott Johnson at ramdomthoughts because his show won 'Podcast of the Month' and that show featured my Summer Martini Mixer 07 exclusively first.

Thanks to everyone at Beat-Boot-Ique who voted - really appreciate it.
